Lauren Mulligan

is a storyteller working in photography, illustration, and filmmaking. In 2017, Mulligan was named one of South Africa’s 20 emerging black womxn photographers by Between 10&5 and completed a Master’s in Film & Television at Wits University in 2018. 

In 2019 she was selected to be part of the Girlgaze, Dove and Getty Images Project #ShowUs – a ground-breaking library of 5000+ photographs devoted to shattering beauty stereotypes. She also photographed Olympic gold medalist, Caster Semenya, for The Players’ Tribune feature as well as internationally acclaimed Ndebele artist Dr Esther Mahlangu for Freshpack.

In 2020/21 she worked with a range of brands including Yoco, Capitec and The Guardian, as well as Unit Still Photographer for Amazon Prime Video series, The Power and Universal Pictures film, Beast. 

2022 highlights include assignments for Lonely Planet, Roads & Kingdoms, as well as Creative Direction for London-based consultancy, Squad Sports Marketing.

She is currently based in Cape Town, South Africa.
